Car lockout service in Bethlehem, PA
Keys on the seat, in the trunk, or in a coat pocket inside the car. We open it where it sits, without damage to the door or the lock.
How we open a car
Modern cars are opened with the same tools dealers and roadside services use: a wedge to create a small gap, a long reach tool to work the handle or the unlock button, and for some models a lockout tool that works the lock linkage directly. No coat hanger, no broken weather strip.
Older cars and some European models have locks that need a pick or a decoder instead. We carry both. What we do not do is force anything. If a car has an unusual setup, we say so before we start.

Tell us these when you call
Three answers and the dispatcher can price it and give you an estimated time of arrival.
- Year, make and model
- Exactly where the car is: lot, deck level, street
- Is a key inside, or is the key lost?
- Is the engine running or a child or pet inside? Say so first
- Does the car have a push-button start?
- Who is the registered owner or driver?
We confirm lawful possession of the car as part of the job, so have your license or registration handy.
Key locked in versus key lost
If a key is inside, it is a lockout: we open the door and you are on your way. If the key is lost, opening the door is only half the job, because the car will not start without a key. That is a car key replacement, and we do it right there: cut the blade, program the transponder or fob, and test it in the ignition.
Say which one it is on the phone. The pricing structure is different, and the van needs to bring the right blanks and programmer.
Car lockout questions
Will it scratch the paint or bend the door?
No. The tools are padded and the gap we create is small. The weather strip and the paint are fine when we are done.
The key fob is dead, not lost. What then?
Most fobs have a hidden mechanical key for exactly this. If yours does not, or the lock is seized from never being used, we open the car and can replace the fob battery while we are there.
Can you open the trunk if the keys are in it?
Yes. On most cars, once the cabin is open the trunk release or the fold-down seats get us there.
Do you do this in the parking decks downtown?
All the time. Give us the deck, the level and the space number if there is one.
