My key turns but nothing happens.
That can be the key's chip, the ignition switch, or something else in the car. We check the key and the cylinder first, since those are the cheap fixes, and tell you honestly if it is beyond a locksmith.
Can you rekey a car so an old key stops working?
On many cars, yes, by reprogramming so lost keys are no longer recognized. On some, the door and ignition cylinders can be rekeyed as well. Ask on the call.
